Who We Are

About Access to Good Health Initiative

Access to Good Health Initiative (AGHI) is a human rights/public health community based organization in Nigeria founded in January 2014. AGHI was born out of passion to reduce the prevalence of HIV and other STI amongst sexual minorities and other marginalized populations.

In 2015 AGHI was incorporated as a Nigerian non-governmental organization under the mentorship of Heartland Alliance Nigeria as the Sub Recipient and Society for Family Health (SFH) as the principal recipient while implementing the Global Funds-EKPIN project in Enugu state Nigeria, this mentorship improved the organizational structure, governance, financial management and project implementation.

AGHI uses social marketing, behavior change communication, research and documentation working in partnership with other public health/rights based organizations. Through these efforts we reached the hard to reach populations with HIV and human rights interventions within the five states of South Eastern Nigeria working towards the realization of our vision.

AGHI has her Headquarters in Enugu state Nigeria and we have strong physical presence across the other four states of South East Nigeria (Abia, Imo, Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu state). Without donor funding AGHI started operations but with funding support we have improved our services raging from STI treatment and referrals, condom sampling and distributions, HIV counseling and testing, human rights education, community outreaches, printing of IEC materials, monitoring and documentation of human rights violations amongst others
